We are Forever Friends Animal League of Kansas City.......an all-volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to helping abandoned or unwanted animals find permanent, loving homes. We are a "No-Kill" organization. We DO NOT euthanize or put our animals "to sleep" if they are not adopted.
Where Is FFAL's Facility? We don't have a facility, but we would love to have one! That's an enormous project and is one of our long-term goals. Wouldn't it be great if someone donated land to us for this project, or bequeathed us money to build the facility? We can always dream! Until then, loving individuals foster all of our animals. How Does FFAL Find Homes For Their Animals? We hold adoption events in malls, pet stores, and other pet-friendly locations. We also post pictures and personality profiles of our available animals on our Petfinder.com pages. Where Does FFAL Get Their Animals? There is no shortage of animals in this world that are in need of good homes. Our animals come from shelters where countless numbers are "put down" daily, or from the streets and alleys where they are living without food and protection, or from the family that is moving to a new place that doesn't allow pets, or from a lady who wants to "get rid" of the pregnant cat that was dumped in her neighborhood, etc., etc. We do our best to help these animals. We can't possibly help all of them, unfortunately, but we are making a difference! Are FFAL's Animals Healthy? All of our animals have been seen by a veterinarian, are spayed or neutered prior to their adoption, and are current on vaccinations appropriate for their age. Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Dogs over six months old are tested for heartworm. At times we may have animals with special needs, such as diabetes, blindness, leukemia, FIV, etc., but are otherwise in good health. We are committed to finding animals their lifetime home, regardless of age or disability. From Where Does FFAL's Funding Come? We are a non-profit organization and rely heavily on your donations. Our adoption fees, memberships, and fundraisers also augment our income. We are strictly an all-volunteer organization; no one receives a salary nor do we receive any governmental funding. It is always a struggle to balance our books with all of our costs, so your monetary donations really help! How can you help? That's easy! Volunteer, Foster or Godparent, and Donate. Many of us here do all three! Please consider contributing in some way. With your help we can make a difference and save animal's lives! Our Dream Forever Friends is striving to create a sanctuary that has facilities for lifetime care, special needs, bequeathed or other animals in need of shelter. The sanctuary would have an area dedicated to socializing and taming feral cats, with a safe area for colonies that aren't being domesticated. The facility would also have individual cat apartments for volunteers to help make less-adoptable cats more appealing to a good home. An on-site spay/neuter clinic would also be on the premises. The Forever Friends sanctuary would help expand our program of outreach and accomplish the national goal of having no more homeless pets. |
